Captain America #25 - Marvel

I don't really read Cap. I did at one time, but . . . with the number of books I read . . something had to go. However, since this is a tie-in with the Civil War storyline, and since Cap ends up dead at the end of it . . . . . oh crap!!! Did I give away the ending? Like nobody saw that coming. It was good, but it wasn't as moving as other stories I've seen like this. They tried to suck us in by giving us a recap of his Origin and roots. But we've all seen that story before. And there was a good twist at the end about who might actually have given him the killing shot. But then we have to ask ourselves, is he really dead? I mean this characters been around for about 60 years. And they're still talking about doing a Cap movie. So is he really dead? For now, probably . . . yes. Or as close to it as our favorite comic book characters can be. I liked the book, and the story, however I thought it would be a little more moving. Don't get me wrong. It was . . . ok. They probably just can't reveal to much, because of all the schemes and counter-schemes going on out there as part of the Civil War aftermath. Also I probably won't continue to pick up this series, because with all the Initiative books going on out there, I don't think I'll miss any part of the story, by not picking up this book. Sorry so cynical. But I have to be realistic also.
