Authority #2 - Wildstorm

This book is coming out kind of slow. It's been almost 5 months since the last issue. I posted #1 on 11/26. But anyways, I hate to admit it, but it's worth the wait. If for nothing else than the creative team. We all know that Grant Morrison is phenomenal. And we all know that Gene Ha has a style all his own, that is just fantastic. But put the 2 together, and we have magic. Now add, on top of that, all these fantastic characters, and we have a seriously awesome book. The team has landed on a world, much like our own, devoid of all super-beings. Even Jack is having a hard time. " . . . the cities back home love to gossip. But this . . . . this is like trying to romance a cardboard box." So they set out on the earth trying to figure out what they're going to use to power up their ship. But they can't seem to find anything of use. Apollo heads out to scout out the planet. He's trying to keep as far under the radar as possible. Shaman is also having a hard time, " . . . I'm the so called Shaman of a global village far, far from here. The songs and stories of this earth, the paths along which magic works are . . . unfamiliar. The truth is, we need to get out of here fast. Something about this place . . . something about to happen . . . and we can't be here when it does." Finally some of the locals happen upon the ship and Shen Li Min finds them. She takes them in to the ship to try to alleviate some of their fears. But I think that may be part of the problem that Shaman was talking about. Then Apollo gets shot down over Afghanistan. And before the team can assemble to go get him, the MidNighter has already arrived. Now they're afraid that he's going to start World War III. As always, this is a fantastic series, and a fantastic set of character. This is what, the 3rd or 4th incarnation? They've all been good. But they've all been plagued with problems. The only problem I've seen so far here, is the scheduling problem. Even on the web-site, where they usually have books posted 4, 5, or 6 months in advance, they only have #3 posted for this one. That really is a crying shame. I really want this book to do good, and be around for a while. But, it'll do itself in if the consumer has to wait around to long for it. I mean, look how long we've waited for the next issue of All-Star Batman. What? Does Frank need to do another movie first? Sorry! That's a different subject. Anyways, I really like this book, and I want to get in to it. But, to do that, I'll need the publisher's help. Please! Please don't let us down!
