I was upset when Batman:Legends of the Dark Knight was cancelled. I really liked that book. But I just figured out that I needn't be, because it was just reformatted and given another title. That's how Batman Confidential was born. Just like Legends, Confidential takes stories from Batman's long career, stories that we may not have heard yet, and puts them in this bright flashy book. So like Legends we're going to get various length story arcs, by various creators. Cool! This one is about a battle for a defense contract, between Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor. At least that's what it appears to be about. But, when it comes to Lex, there's plans hidden in plans, which are hidden in a plan. So the one thing you can be sure of, is that the obvious thing that he's after, is not the ultimate thing that he's after. I really like the way that Andy Diggle crafts his stories. There's like a military precision to them. Actually they really do have a military type feel to them, or like a shadow operation. But the way he looks at things, and explains why things should be done a certain way, comes off as very original, and actually, believable. And of course I can't forget Whilce Portacio on pencils. It's so good to have him back on the comic scene. You were really missed for a few years there, buddy. Anyways this seems, so far, to be a very good series. I'm really diggin' this first story-arc. You should pick it up, if you haven't.
