Onslaught Reborn - #3 - Marvel

The only real problem I have with this book is, what purpose does it serve? I mean, yes Onslaught is back. But, he's in the Hero's Reborn Universe. The one that Franklin Richards created. The one that we haven't heard a word about, since the whole Hero's Reborn thing was wrapped up. So, why is it now, that this Universe is supposed to be important to us? Yes we have some of our favorite characters there, or variations there of, but I don't really understand why Franklin felt it was important to go there. What is he trying to save? How does he think that he'll make a difference? And, how does he know, since he did create a whole universe, that Onslaught isn't anything more than a creation, or maybe even a fraction of, his own psyche. I mean, it seems like things were moving along ok over there. At least until Franklin decided to come back. So now we have Onslaught possessing Thor, and then the Hulk. Iron Man has to dive down on him, from about 20,000 feet, in order to hit him hard enough to knock him out. Meanwhile, Franklin has been holed up with Ricki Barnes, this universe's Bucky, while the hero's try to take care of Onslaught. But someone comes to pay a visit to them. Some people, actually, who are just as distressed that Onslaught is running amok in their Universe, and want to lend their immense power to help bring him down. They include, the Executioner, Scarlet Witch, Enchantress, UltronV and Loki. But Susan, even though she may not be his real mother, is still being the protective parent, and along with Ant-man is keeping an eye on Franklin. She's not going to let anyone hurt him. I'm not a big Rob Liefeld fan. His art is ok. I just don't like some of the things he's done with his career. Or the reasons behind them. But I am a big Jeph Loeb fan. I think Jeph ranks right up there with Grant Morrison, Garth Ennis, and a few others. So that's why I bought in to this series. I just hope that something will happen that will actually be of consequence to the Marvel Universe. And not just something that, years from now, will end up being some kind of trivia question.
