Justice League of America #6 - DC

This is a fantastic book. And the Michael Turner alternative covers, are stupendous. But when you have Adam Hughes on the regular cover, and Michael on the alternative, how can you loose? Especially with Adam doing Black Canary! Meowww!! We're really finishing up Red Tornado's story here. He's been captured by Solomon Grundy, who is smart this time around, and is in the process of beating the snot out of him. Which, apparently, was the sole purpose of getting John to take residence in a real body. Well . . that . . and being able to actually kill him. Which Grundy comes very close to doing. He actually rips John's hand off and eats it. But in the end, the team gets to him just before he dies, and with Zantanna's help, they get him back in to his robot body. We also see the team take on Amazo in this issue. And they are ruthless!! They seriously kick his ass. They beat the robot down, and then just are just unrelenting. The final straw is when Vixen, flying on to the scene, swoops down on him with the speed of a peregrine Falcon, about 217 miles per hour, and then switching her mass weight to that of a triceratops just before impact. There isn't much left of him after that. And the reason she did that . . . really . . . was to get her totem off of his back. She's not a woman I'd want to cross. Brad Meltzer is taking full advantage of all of theses character's . . . character. The way he's playing them off of each other is incredible. And Ed Benes . . . . I just can't say enough about him. His work is just phenomenal. The best work from him to date. And he's put out some really good stuff. I feel like Brad and Ed are really having a lot of fun with this book. You can feel it, and it shows. Thank You!!
