52 - Week Forty Four - DC

This issue we find out about the aftermath of Osiris being killed. Sobek wasn't actually Osiris' friend. In fact their whole meeting, at the Sivana house, was a set-up by Intergang. He was actually Hunger/Famine. You know, of the Four Horsemen. The Four Horsemen that Intergang hired all those scientists on the island to create. It was also the Four Horsemen that have been causing everything in Khandaq to go belly up. Osiris wasn't actually cursed. But they were letting him believe that. Way back when Intergang came to Black Adam and wanted to set up a safe passage through Khandaq, but he refused, that's when the plan was hatched. That's when Intergang decided that the Black Marvel family was going to have to pay. Black Adam takes out hunger pretty easily. He basically just rips him in half. War, Pestilence and Death, on the other hand, are a little harder to deal with. Black Adam actually puts up a heroic fight. But he can't stop Pestilence before he gets to Isis. She dies in Adams arms and begs him to avenge their family. "I was wrong Adam . . . it was never you who needed redemption. It was the rest of the world. The world of men that made such horrible creatures. The evil needs to die. I thought we could be above them, but . . . for the pain they have put our family through . . . avenge us!!" And those are Isis' dying words. The ripples of her death reach Nada Parabat, and Montoya has to take on the mantle of the Question to go to Khandaq and try to find some answers. This series is nearing it's end, and it's getting better and better. How are all these plot lines going to be tied up in the next 8 issues? And we still haven't heard about Aquaman, Boomerang, Ray Palmer or the Teen Titans. They got a lot of ground to cover in 8 weeks. But with what I've seen so far, I have every confidence that they'll be able to handle it. Awesome series!
