This issue has kind of a neat story. It's one of the first times our young heroes have come in contact with the Skrulls. They don't really know they're Skrulls though. Actually, they don't even know what Skrulls are. And actually, at this time in their training, I don't even know if they know that life exists on other planets. Anyways, the Skrulls are hanging around Westchester and release some monsters from Govt. custody, disguised as the X-men, to discredit them. Their task now is to kill them. However, in waiting for the opportune time, mostly in the local coffee shop which the X-men also hang out in, they come to know them a little bit, and pick up on their personalities. When one of the monsters comes in to town, the X-men try to herd everyone off to safety. So by the time the X-men have fought the monster, and have all been knocked out, the Skrulls have come to try to save them. But another Skrull that has been following them, takes out the monster and then takes all the Skrull children aboard the spaceship, to take them back to the fleet. They've obviously failed in their mission, by becoming to close and involved with their target. But as you see them on their ship, they joke and laugh just as our X-men youngsters do. So basically, they're the same, but different. And other than what Jean thinks may have just been a dream, the X-men are none the wiser. Cool book. Nice story, and cool art.
