Fantastick Four : 1602 #5 - Marvel

It took me 10 days to read this book. I started this blog on April 1st. But then I saw a couple of other books that I wanted to read first. Then I entered some more books in for reviews. Then I read all those books, except this one. So finally today, I sat down and finished this book. Why was it so hard? Because, as much as I wanted to like this series, I came to think of it as a waste of our natural resources. More specifically, paper. There was nothing original, thought provoking, or even insightful about this story. The team of heroes, although at the time I don't think that they would probably refer to themselves as that, fight Otto Von Doom. Big whup! Boring! So they throw Shakespear into the mix. Why? No clue. Then the fight ends up in the Atlantic Ocean, so of course Namor, er I mean Numenor, has to get in the mix. And, being that everyone in this story is acting without any intelligence, decides that he's in love with Susan, is willing to do whatever he has to to take her, even if it means aligning himself with an obvious despot like Doom. The man's a king, right? So he got there with some kind of common sense and analytical thinking. Right? Did he just decide to throw it out the window on this day? And there's a watcher. Of course there is. Isn't there one always in a FF story? The best part about this whole series was the covers. Those were pretty good. Although they usually had nothing to do with the story inside the book, other than they portrayed the characters. I'm really disappointed in this series. Actually, that they even published it. But that's what big business does, put any piece of crap they can out there, because they know somebody will buy it. Well apparently, we're all suckers. I wasted $17.50 on this series. Thanks for nothing.
