This one read like a chapter of the Infinity Gauntlet or Infinity War. Except . . . you know . . . Reed Richards instead of Thanos. Reed has this idea, that since the infinity gems are so dangerous, and the idea of them all coming together to form the infinity gauntlet is just to heinous to conceive, that these members of the Illuminati should gather them up so that there's no risk of anyone else trying to do the same thing. Now, I'm no Reed Richards, but, even to me, that idea has hair-brained written all over it. Well Reed, being who Reed is, accomplishes the task. He says that he's trying to will the gauntlet to erase itself from existence, but . . . . it ain't happening. And, what Reed has done has also caused Uatu to intervene. So what Reed decides to do is for each of the Illuminati to take one of them gems and hide it, even from each other. Making them, their protectors. But I still have a feeling that this is going to come back to bite them in the ass, sooner or later. But, they're supposed to be the smart ones. Uatu says that he is proud of them for not giving in to temptation. But the look on Reeds face says he was very close to doing just that. Interesting story. Not the type of thing you'd see a normal super group taking care of. I can't wait to see what they do next.
