We finally wrap up the Empathy Engine storyline. It felt like it lasted forever. It was a cool concept when it first started, but then it felt like it dragged on forever and ever. Last issue they put a plan in place, to get a bunch of good people, good christian people, to come to their aid by bringing love, hope and prayer. It worked, in theory. But when you get that many people together, that care that passionately about something, you're gonna get conflict. But then something happened that they hadn't anticipated, this is the day of the world cup quarter finals, between England and Portugal. So now they're afraid that if England loses, the soldiers surrounding the city will be so upset, that John and his tribe will never be able to counteract the onslaught of emotion. But come to find out, the Soldiers are Scottish. So when England loses, they're happy as clams. So with that emotion surrounding the city, they're finally able to overpower the master. Of course it helps that Cole is an artist, which gives him unlimited imagination, which is the one thing the master has no defense for. So Cole, literally, imagines himself in the third place. Then imagines himself bigger than the master. Then imagines himself devouring him. And just like that, it's over. Now Cole may eventually get to the same point as this master, but it took this one millennia to concoct this plan. So John feels safe for now. But that's not to say it won't come back to bite him in the ass sooner or later. But now it's wrapped up. We get to move on to a new storyline next issue. Yay!!
