52 - Week Forty - DC

We finally get to see John Henry back in his full Steel uniform. He and the Teen Titans, as they are at the time of this book, are descending upon LexCorp to try to rescue Natasha. What he doesn't know is that Lex used the Everyman enhancements on himself. Basically, Lex kicks the shit out of him. But, because its for family, John Henry refuses to give up. And even when confronted by someone as strong as Superman, John Henry will take him down because he is fighting for a reason, and Lex is just in the pursuit of gaining power. But actually it's Natasha that figures out how to stop him. In their melee, John's hammer has fallen to the wayside. As she comes across it she remembers, " . . . . Luthor proved a close range electrical pulse can disorganize the artificial exo-gene. You hammer has an atomic power source. You're right about how we need to rely on ourselves and all that stuff. But sometimes technology . . . goes a long way. This is for Infinity Inc., Lex. Making an "off" switch was your big mistake!" She powers up the hammer, and Luthor comes down like a rock. All that's left is for John Henry to return the favor. We also see Osiris, who is plagued with guilt over killing that man. Kahndaq is in disarray. The rain won't stop, the gardens are dying, diseases are coming back, and cemetaries are overflowing. So he's going to relinquish his powers, and go to the Rock of Eternity, " . . . to find a new family." This is a fantastic book. I love that we see all these characters that we don't usually see in the normal monthly titles. It's nice for them to have a place to shine. Plus, as you all know, I'm a big proponent of this weekly comic book thing. Love it! With apologies to all you creators that are chained to your desks trying to churn this out. But if it helps . . . . . Thank You!
