This issue puts Marc back in the Marvel Universe. I mean, we all knew he was back. But he wasn't really reference anywhere but here. I mean, he didn't die. So I'm sure they all knew he was around. I guess it's just not very uplifted to visit a broken hero. Anyways, Spider-man stumbles across him while he's out on patrol. Or at least that's what Spider-man claims. Great line hear by Marc. After taking down a group of thugs, he starts beating on them with a board. "Hey! What are you doing?", shouts Spider-man. To which Marc replies, simply, "Marking my territory." Classic Moon Knight. So anyways, he knows if he's going to get back in the game, he's not going to be able to do this by himself. So he's going around this issue trying to get the gang back together. He goes and talks to Frenchie first, of course. He doesn't really want back in, but he's loyal to his friend. Next he goes to Gena's for Ricky's brother. Jean-Paul warns him, "When you find Widle, be careful". Marc doesn't really remember him, but Jean-Paul reminds him, "Wilde. Jeffrey. The annoying boy." But before he can do anything else, he goes home to find that he has a visitor waiting for him . . . . . Steve Rogers. There are 2 sub-plots floating around in this issue. One is the so called Clock Killer. He's claimed his third victim. But he's really an old friend of Marc's. And Marc is the real person he's after. The second is the Civil War connection. Marc's demons warn him that the Spider-man hook up wasn't a coincidence, but rather a recruiting drive. Marc shrugs this off as paranoia, but he may have to rethink that when he finds Steve waiting for him. Great book! Fantastic effort by Charlie Huston and David Finch. To tell you the truth, I'm surprised David's stuck around this long. I really thought he's only be around for the first story arc. But it looks like we have him for at least 1 more.
