Bart has moved to Los Angeles, thinking that Val was "going west". He wanted to be closer to her. Even though he didn't know where she was. He thought that she left because of him. Actually she was abducted by Inertia and Mota, her father. Last issue Inertia tried to double cross Mota, and blow him up. He also used a device to mimic Val's voice and lure Bart to Las Vegas. This issue Bart catch's up to him, only to find that Inertia has used Val as bait in a trap for Bart. Of course he taps in to the speed force and beats the trap, and saves Val. But now he has to beat Mota who, in molecular energy form, has sought out his daughter because he realizes that she is his only connection now to the real world. He also realizes that Inertia was just using him, and their plan to create a body for his energy, was ridiculous. He tries to talk to Val, but she doesn't want much to do with him, and when Bart returns he thinks that Mota is threatening her again. Mota tries to escape, but Bart figures out how to catch him and then lock him up at Iron Heights. Now he and Val have to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives. Val wants to try to get back on at STAR Labs, and Bart has decided to try to join the LA Police Dept.. Meanwhile, in the future, Inertia is planning his next attack. Next issue we get a new creative team. But, I think this one has done a good job so far. So now we'll have to wait to see what direction they decide to take him in. And maybe we'll find out what happened to Wally. Maybe?
