This is the second part of the Mike Carey / Humberto Ramos storyline, Infection. The back story to this arc is, " . . . years ago, there was an organization headed by a world renowned genetics expert named Richard Palance. Rogue, along with an undisclosed number of other mutants, sought out Palance for help in controlling their powers. Now, in recent months, he started kidnapping mutants." Apparently when all the people came to him, he took DNA samples to keep for himself. Then somehow he transformed himself, and gave himself powers similar to Rogue's. And he's absorbed the powers of every mutant that came to him for help. "Two hundred and ninety seven mutants were given into my hands. I laid hands on them all . . . gave them all my blessing, and took what I needed in return. Rogue was the most important, of course, the inspiration. She made me possible. She was the seed from which I was born. If Rogue could exist . . . everything else followed." Bobby destroys all his gene samples, but, he's still a power to be reckoned with. Cable and Cannonball are on their way for backup, but as they approach they come to find out that no one gets in unless Dr. Palance wills it. So they send in the only weapon they can, to help them . . . . Sabretooth. Looks like the stuff's gonna' hit the fan next issue. Fantastic book. We're almost up to issue #200, so you know there's probably going to be some changes in store.
