Ultimate Fantastic Four #38 - Marvel

Alright, we are wrapping up the God War storyline. Last issue Ronan followed the FF back to Earth, to judge them. That's not a good thing. Unfortunately he brought half of Ironwater with him. It's now melding in to Manhattan. So the skyline looks really funky. The FF try to take on Ronan, but even with all their power they're hardly making him breathe heavy. He's carrying a universal weapon, which absorbs any energy thrown at him, so he basically shrugs off any thing they send at him. The Seed Nineteen unit they've been working with, then tries to sway the fight. But they are just as much in over their heads as the FF were. But the Reed comes up with an idea. Of course. He wants Dreamcatcher to meld all their powers. All the FF, and all the Seed Nineteen, and funnel it into Threshold. This really puts Ronan on the ropes, and it's enough that Ben can wrestle the weapon from his grasp. So now things can go back to normal. But, they'll have to be on the watch-out constantly for Thanos. He probably won't take this defeat lying down. And Reed, of course, gets right back in to a project. When they were all melding, Threshold downloaded all of Halcyon science in to Reed's head. So now he's trying to develope something to stop Thanos, should he ever come back again. If you ask me, it looks like he's making a cosmic cube. But I could be wrong. I'm sure this isn't the last we'll see of this. Great story by Mike Carey. And stunning art by Pasqual Ferry. This series is definitely a keeper.
