100 Bullets #80 - Vertigo

They are definitely trying to divie up the power here. Graves has Remi, Cole and Victor. These are his minutemen. With this issue he adds Dizzy, Isabel Cordova, to the list. Remi has Branch in this warehouse and he's been slowly torturing him. Physically, by removing his fingers, on joint at a time. Mentally, by informing him that Wylie is now dead. But at the end he tries to make a run for it, and it looks like Cole's going to have to finish the job. On the other side, we have Lono. He definitely doesn't have the structure that Graves has, but filled with the power of leadership. Mostly by intimidation, but they're all kind of looking for the same thing, payback and retribution for Shepherd and Wylie. Eduardo Risso's are is just awesome. He's been doing some special things with the coloring too that look pretty neat. But Brian Azzarello really makes this series. Lono is in this viewing booth, at some adult book store, trying to intimidate Benito. They're watching some guy give it to some chick up the ass. Lono asks if anyone else has ever tried it. One has, one hasn't. Lono says it just grosses him out. Why? "We all got our Kryptonite, Jack . . . . shit on the dick is it for me." I mean, I could actually see this guy saying something like that. Anyways, cool series. Great story, and fantastic art. What more could you ask for, for $3?
