the Mighty Avengers #34 - Marvel

With this series coming to an end with issue #36 . . it seems like Hank is trying to tear things apart from the inside. This issue the team goes after Loki. Loki has been messing with them for months by posing as the Scarlet Witch. This in turn is really the only reason why Pietro has stuck around as long as he has. When he finds out that Hank has known that whom they thought was his sister was actually Loki . . he's pissed. To say the least. But then he joins in on Hank's plan to make Loki pay . . or at least tell them where Wanda is at. They end up capturing Loki, and kind of torturing him. But this also draws out Thor, whom Loki calls for aid. Loki doesn't really know where Wanda is. He didn't capture her, he just posed as her to use this team. Of course, nobody is really listening to him. And things wouldn't have escalated at all except you know how much of a hot-head Pietro can be. And how Thor sometimes blindly begins fighting. But once they pull those 2 apart, things calm down and with Thor taking Loki with him he promises that he'll answer their question. However, this time Hank's question is . . 'Would you like to join the Mighty Avengers?' Which really just kind of pisses everyone off. Jonas and Cassie decide that they've had enough. It's time for them to return to the Young Avengers. Hercules and Cho take off in disgust. And Pietro was already hanging on by a thread. So now Hank has this Infinite Avengers Mansion that he's built in Pym-space. And it's only inhabitants are going to be himself, Jocasta and Jarvis. And, as all of this was happening . . we saw last issue that a spark of Ultron had reappeared in Jocasta's programming. Since there's now billions of Jocasta's spread out all through the mansion . . I have a feeling Hank is in for the fight of is life when he returns home. I don't know that I necessarily liked the setup for this story. But . . it was entertaining. I thought Dan Slott did a good job. I think what I like about Dan's stories right now are that . . while comic stories are mostly predictable . . with Hank involved . . you just never know what he's going to pull out of his hat. It definitely had a twist in the end that I didn't see coming. This issue Neil Edwards does the art. I can't wait to see what happens in the final 2 issues.
