I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Ultimatum #2 - Marvel
Ok, so everybody should know by now that I'm a huge fan of the Ultimate Universe. I love the idea that they can take these heroes, that we're all so familiar with, but alter and skew the situations slightly and create . . . well, another universe. Kind of like the Squadron Supreme's universe. But this one . . this one is closer to the regular Marvel Universe. Then, on top of that, anything goes. I'm sure Brian Bendis is the master architect here so any changes are flown by him . . you know, just to keep the continuity straight. But other than that . . the only constant, is change. Add to that the fantastic creative talent that has been involved with all of the books here, and it seems like 2000, the year Ultimate Spider-man was launched, was a very good year. This book is done by Jeph Loeb and David Finch. I haven't picked up any of the 'variant' covers yet because I haven't seen anything less that $25 . . sometimes $50. Yikes! If I didn't understand the use of the word 'budget', that might not be a problem. Anyways, a lot of stuff happens in this issue. Spider-man and Hulk seem to be working together. Hawkeye and Yellow-Jacket seem to be working together. Although that one seems to be out of their necessity to find Jan. Tony looks like he's going to start working closer with SHIELD, and Carol Danvers. Who looks very hot. By the way. This book must take place before Ultimate Fantastic Four #57 because Ben is still struggling with an unconscious Sue. And Reed, having gone to confront Namor, is now also talking to Doom and Zarda, Power Princess. I'm not sure what Doom's plan is, but somehow it involves Nick Fury who is currently on Zarda's world. Thor appears to be working with Captain America. Thor's gone to Valhalla to try to retrieve Valkyrie after she's been killed. Hela offers him a chance if he can beat her undead army. Suddenly Captain America shows up, who has also recently died. That's why Tony went to SHIELD. To take his body there. Hawkeye finally finds Jan, but it's to late as it looks like the Blob has decided to feed on her. And Charles and Magneto have come to a confrontation at the school. I think Magneto went there to look for his help, while Charles is hoping he can talk him in to standing down. The conversation ends with Magneto snapping Charles' neck. Wow! That's a lot of stuff for one issue. The way this series is advertised, it looks as if when it's over . . so goes the Ultimate Universe. But I really hope not. Ultimate Spider-man is easily one of my favorite books, with the Ultimates being a close second. Only there because of their various scheduling delays. But it still feels like there's a lot of story to tell. However, Ultimate X-Men is ending with #100, and the Ultimate Fantastic Four's last issue will be #60. Nothing listed for Spider-man yet. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
