Well, we finally get the confirmation this issue that the current Wrath is the originals side-kick. He was the other's Robin. The reason he's after Commissioner Gordon is really a rather twisted tale. It turns out the original Wrath's parents were killed on the same night as Bruce's. But they were killed by a cop . . . Jim Gordon. To hear this new Wrath tell the story, they were shot down in cold blood. Actually, the father was a crooked cop, and he and his mom were ripping off a warehouse of some new stereo equipment. The boy was acting as a look-out. The patrolman, Jim, heard the noises and came to investigate, but they didn't see him until they were almost on top of them. They reacted by pulling out their guns and shooting, but Jim was a better shot. He did indeed take a bullet, but he had killed them. The Wrath, and then his side-kick, blamed Jim for that their whole lives. Now he's using the original Wrath's lover, Grayle, as insurance. Next issue it all comes to a head. I think it's a pretty good story by Tony Bedard. I also really, really like the pencils of Rags Morales with Mark Farmer's inks. Visually, this book is . . actually, stunning. My only complaint is Jim Gordon's hair-cut. Seriously! Overall it really is a good book. And a fantastic series.
