Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters #7 - DC

Ok. Ray's dad, Happy, finally figures out what's causing the Red Bee to act this way. After Ray explains their battle out in space, he surmises that the large bugs are the warrior drones. That means that the small bugs must be in charge of conquest. Which means that all the people that are not acting normal, have been infested. So, now that his name is Neon, he decides to put his new powers to good use. Basically, he turns in to a giant human bug zapper. He draws the bugs that have infested his son's teammates out, and they all turn back to normal. Well, except Red Bee. They had such a hold on her that when they were expelled it sent her into a semi-catatonic state. Which she eventually comes out of, but when she does, she remembers that the rest of the swarm is on it's way. We also have Dr. Glenn, who is at the Pentagon trying to stop the creation that formed when she tried to expand Lester and the rest of the army men that were shrunken. Somehow, in the process, they all combined together in to one big being. But, since Lester is in there, and so is the Vice-President, she's able to calm them/him down and get them back to the lab so she can start working on fixing them. Also, Miss America, who flew off in to space with a nuclear bomb . . . she was trying to save the rest of her teammates . . we find out isn't dead at all. But she is changing. Somehow, between her own powers and the explosion, she's combining with the very fabric of the universe, her powers are expanding and she's being reborn as Miss Cosmos. No not the magazine, and not the cocktail. The colony ship they fought before, has come in to contact with another one. So now there's 2 heading towards Earth. And even though there's 11 of them now . . Sam, Ray, Phantom Lady, Red Bee, Human Bomb, Black Condor, Firebrand, Neon, Captain Triumph, Magno and the Libertine . . . they're still going to need all the help they can get. I think Miss Cosmos is going to be the one to turn the tide. There's only 1 thing I don't like about this series, and that's that next issue is the final one. That stinks! Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti have done a great job with this series. I think Renato Arlem has come a long way as an artist. I just hope that there's another mini-series, or something, somewhere down the road. Please!
