Robin #182 - DC

I can't believe we're almost to the last issue of Robin. Say it isn't so! Although, obviously this isn't the last we're going to see of him. I have a feeling that after the Battle for the Cowl story-line, that we'll have a whole new batch of Batman-family related titles. The characters and dynamics may be different, but . . I'm sure there's still going to be a Robin and a Nightwing. And Dick and Tim are still going to be in the mix . . . somewhere. Anyways, Fabian Nicieza and Freddie Williams II bring us the final 2 issues. This issue, more or less, wraps up a lot of hanging story-lines. We finish up the story with Anarky, Ulysses Hadrian Armstrong, this issue. He's not the original Anarky, and has completely different methods. His main objective is simply to spread chaos throughout Gotham. He wants it to fold in on itself. But with Robin, Spoiler . . as well as the Commissioner and Officer Harper opposing him, I just don't think he's man enough to pull all of this off. But, through the unfolding of events, Ulysses is going to have a new reason to have a grudge against Robin. In the final conflict, Anarky has one more bomb out there. Robing figures it's either going to take out Harper or Spoiler. But, he can't save them both . . if he picks the wrong one. Anyways, Harper is by the car because she'd brought Ulysses' family to try to talk him down. His mom and dad are away from the car, and Robin swoops in to save Officer Harper. But, what neither Robin nor Ulysses knew what that his little brother and sister, Matthew and Hillary, were still sitting in the backseat. So even though it was Anarky that set off the bomb, he's still going to blame Robin for whats happened to his family. This obviously won't be the last we see of him. Anyways, in the end, it seems that all of this chaos has actually brought the citizens and gangs of Gotham closer together. They had a common enemy. Robin confronts Spoiler about what she did and tells her, "Don't let me ever catch you wearing that costume again." But, I don't think that's the end of her. Depending on how things play out, I think . . . she might be the next Robin. Just a wild guess. But we'll see. Tim and Jason have also made a peace of sorts. Jason is is jail, but . . Tim offers him the access code to the JLA transporters to get him out. "His last chance. Lets see what he makes of it." Tim's also sent out Bard with some information he's gathered on Detectives Cavallo and Wise. "Me? I don't want anything. But my employer . . he wants you to know that from now on . . you work for him." Officer Jaime Harper has been promoted and the Commissioner has decided to move on and has the Bat-Signal replaced with . . the Robin signal. Like I said, everything is pretty much wrapped up this issue, so . . it'll be interesting to see what they have in store for us next issue . . the final issue. Which really sucks because . . I have a box and a half filled with everything Robin. I love this character. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the future holds.
