Green Lantern #37 - DC

I absolutely love this book. First of all, Geoff Johns is putting together an incredible tale here. Especially with all these different spectrum's of Lanterns. And then . . Ivan Reis' art is simply fantastic. I don't know how they got him to do this series but I hope he never leaves. And then, to top it off, this issue we get a great Shane Davis cover. This guy has a fantastic future ahead of him. Anyways Hal met the Blue Lanterns, both of them, Saint Walker and Warth, last issue. They were created and taught by Ganthet and Sayd. They want Hal to join them and to become their leader. Right now though Hal's only concern is to retrieve Sinestro from Ysmault and return him to OA for execution. The Blue Lanterns don't like this though. They've been taught that Hal and Sinestro are both essential to the future of the Universe. On Ysmault, Hal is confronted by the Red Lanterns. Particularly Atrocitus and Laira. He feels especially disparaged over Laira and tries to save her, but . . that proves to be his undoing. Sinestro ends up saving Hal from Laira's rage, but to do so he has to kill her. Which puts Hal hot on his trail. And this isn't a good place to be full of rage. Laira's ring, upon her death, searches for her replacement and . . . picks Hal. "Hal Jordan of sector 2814, you have great rage in your heart." Hal is now a Red Lantern. That can't be a good thing. Atrocitus is seething in his victory, Sinestro is dumbfounded, and the Blue Lanterns? Have the Blue Lanterns finally lost hope? We'll have to wait until next issue to find out. Man this is a great book. I can't wait to get next issue.
