I really like this series. Well this and Batman Confidential also. But then I'm a big fan of the JLA and JSA Classified books, so, since this seems to be in the same genre, it would naturally appeal to my interests. We're still dealing with the story about Luthor, Gallo and the big green rock, that appears to be sentient. Supposedly it landed on the earth about the same time that Clark originally got here. So, my guess is that there's actually someone encased in that rock. But since we're just getting little bits and pieces about it's history every issue, we don't really know what we're dealing with yet. This issue Gallo takes more to the side-lines and Luthor takes the lead. Superman appears to be weakened by something. We think that it's connected to Gallo and the rock, but we don't know how yet. But Luthor is taking advantage of the situation. He has some merc's, outfitted with neuro-scramblers and plasma feeds beating the crap out of him. He doesn't know how their capable of doing it, but he's very happy that they are. He also shares this information with Lois, to see what her take on it is, but she's just as shocked as he is. But Superman doesn't give up, and with his last ounce of energy, takes down the goons. But, that leaves him alone and helpless. Fortunately Jimmy comes to his rescue. The odd part is though, he wants to take him someplace safe, so they go to Clark's apartment. And Clark is there. But we'll have to wait until next issue to solve this mystery. Also, besides really liking the format of this book, Darwyn Cooke and Tim Sale are at the creative helm. So the look and feel of the book is fantastic. Can't wait to get more.
