Nightwing #131 - DC

Apparently Jamal Igle is the artist on Nightwing now. I thought he was just filling in last issue, but he's back this one also. But . . . that's a good thing. I really started liking Jamal's stuff over on Firestorm. Then they had a creative change, and I hadn't seen him much lately. But . . . now he's back. Hopefully for good. But we'll see. It seems like there's hardly a book out there that can hang on to a regular artist lately. Oh . . . except for Ultimate Spiderman, and 100 Bullets. Both fantastic books. Anyways Dick is still after Bride & Groom. Although he still doesn't know that's what they're called. And he's going with the strong-arm route also. Mainly because his friend and her children were also killed by these maniacs. He works his way around town, but is having a hard time getting any information on them. Which is to be expected, because really, they're pretty much loners. So he takes some time at the gym to work out a little aggression. And it looks like he may have a new friend joining his circle, Dennis West. He studies martial arts, kick-boxing, wrestling and he's a full-out leatherneck. He's really perfect of Dick's circle. But . . . we'll have to wait and see. Meanwhile Bride & Groom have started hunting also. And this time they're hunting for Nightwing. They cross paths in the meta bar where Dick started his search. He hurts Groom pretty bad, and in her torment and anger Bride leaves the bar burning to the ground with Nightwing passed out in the middle of it all. Nice story-line. I like the way that Marv Wolfman is trying to get Dick acclimated in to his new surroundings, New York City. I also like Dick's new attitude towards . . . well . . . everything.
