Ultimate Spider-Man #107 - Marvel

This is such a great book! Poor Kitty Pryde. First she has to go to Peter's school, because her mom moved. And she had a bit of a falling out with the Professor. Then, everyone knows that she's a mutant. So she's like the local celebrity. Also, she one of the only Jewish people that go to this school, so she's going to be stuck at the short end of that stereotype. And finally, and probably the most personal to her, is that Peter has broken up with her, but he hasn't figured out how, or found the time, to tell her. Is that enough dung to heap on top of one person? Peter does try to talk to her, at MJ's urging. And things start to seem like they're going in the right direction. But, of course, with all things related to the heart . . . . they don't appease either side of the discussion. But, Peter does have something to look forward to. He's supposed to meet Matt Murdock, the Daredevil, at 8pm. He's pretty psyched too. The group that he's put together consist of Doctor Strange, Moon Knight, Iron Fist, Shang-Chi and of course Daredevil himself. But then things take a turn for the worse here. Because he's found out that their ultimate plan is to kill the Kingpin. Peter's all for taking him down, or embarrassing him, or even sending him to jail. " . . . we're supposed to represent something. Something loftier. . . . . I'm not going to defend the guy, but if you guys whack him . . . I'll go right to Nick Fury. If you want to bring him down, scare him out of town, or get the goods on him so the guy goes to fat jail forever . . . that I'm behind. But I'm not going to allow this. It's not going to happen." But it all may be moot anyways. At the end of this book, Danny Rand, Iron Fist, is filling in Wilson Fisk on the details of their plans. Word for word. So they've got a traitor in their midst already. This is Mark Bagley's final story arc of this title. The book will go on, but under different creative leadership. It could be a good thing. Or it could mess everything up. We'll just have to wait and see.
