I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Hellblazer #245 - Vertigo
This issue, and next, we get a little break from the Laughing Magician story-line. It appears that John has sufficiently distracted Mako . . for now. So instead, were going to get a little story that gives us some background on John. This one goes all the way back to his 20-something years when he was in a punk-rock band called Mucous Membrane. Actually, though, the story isn't as much about him as it is about the city in which some strange stuff took place . . . Newcastle. John's band played there a few times, and on one occasion, some murders took place in the basement under the club in which they were playing. Nothing was ever linked to John or his band, but there were always some suspicions. Now . . the place seems to be cursed. Were introduced to the current remains of the city by a semi-journalistic group doing background stories on some of Britain's more famous punk-rock bands. This time up . . they've picked Mucous Membrane and have picked Newcastle to portray them because of their famous show. The show with the murders. They arrive in the late afternoon, so they're going to have to spend the evening in the ghost town, until they can film in the morning. By the end of the book, and well into the evening, we find that whatever clouds hanging over this town, has severely messed with these kids heads. It think it's a neat fill-in story, by Jason Aaron. I also enjoyed Sean Murphy's art. I haven't seen his stuff before, but he definitely shows some potential. It's not all good, but, some of it . . is really good. Anyways, we got this 2 issue fill-in and then Diggle and Manco will be back after that. In the meantime, enjoy the dark-side of Newcastle.
