Green Lantern #23 - DC

This is a great cover by Ivan Reis. But I wanted to share the original with you. It's by Darryl Banks, and it's from around 1994. I think. Anyways, I just hate to see stuff like this, without paying homage to the original. And speaking of that, whatever happened to Darryl Banks? After his run on GL it's like he dropped off the face of the earth. Does anybody know anything? It's not overly important, it's just one of those things I think about every now and again. Anyways, Geoff Johns and Ivan Ries are at the top of their form with this book. I love it! By the way, if you notice, those aren't power rings on Hal's fingers, those are Sinestro rings. They're on Qward, and his ring is getting low on power, so he scoops up some yellow rings, so he has something to fight back with. Some of the Green Lanterns actually free Ion this issue. They've gone back to OA. Hal, John and Guy have gone back to Earth. On Qward they saw the Anti-Monitor, whom they thought was destroyed. But if he's not, they're going to need some heavy duty back-up. The Guardians have rewritten the book of OA to include some new laws. The first of which is that they are allowed to use lethal force against the Sinestro Corps. And we learn that the Sinestro Corps target is OA, the center of the universe, but rather Earth, the center of the multi-verse. So I guess it's a good thing our guys headed back there to get some talent lined up. Fantastic book! It's got a great story, with break-neck pace, and some of the best characters in comics. This is without a doubt the best this title has ever been. And really, I think, we're just getting started.
