Countdown #31 - DC

Most of this book is about our travellers that have gone in search of Ray Palmer. They're on the world of the Crime Syndicate now. I'm sorry. It's the Crime Society. I'm not sure what the distinction is . . . but that's what they're calling themselves. The amazing part of it is, the person that comes to their rescue is . . . . the Jokester. I guess that makes sense since the Society is evil. I guess the evil characters would be good? But that's going to be a bitter pill for Jason to swallow. Seeing as how he's who killed him. But anyways, yeah. He's the one who shows up when they're overwhelmed by the Society's members. And, unbeknownst to them, when they slip off to the next world, he slips through the hole behind them. And, as soon as they leave, Monarch shows up, offering them membership in his army. And a multiverse to conquer when they finish with his plans. Holly is moving up in the ranks at the Athena Women's Shelter. But it may not be as Utopian as she likes. When she tries to send a letter out to Selina, its ripped up and thrown away. Also Mary Marvel has met up in Greece with Eclipso. She thinks she's totally bonkers, but then, I think, Eclipso tricks her in to killing some guards. And when she gives in to that dark urge, is when she decides to give Eclipso's offer a try. Karate Kid and Una have caught up with Buddy Blank. And Jimmy Olsen, now at Cadmus, is being tested. But during the test it seems like all of his powers display themselves at once. And then, although I'm not sure what relevance it has on the story, we see the little imp, Myx, ripped out of his home dimension . . . literally. I still really dig this series, and what they're doing with it. And I'm glad they're sticking to the weekly format.
