I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Birds of Prey #110 - DC
I really have a lot of respect for Tony Bedard. It seems he can handle writing anything. He took over on this book, hit the ground running, and it really feels like it didn't miss a beat. That's impressive. I really thought that with a woman writing this book for so long, that the feel just wouldn't be the same with a male author. Guess I was wrong. I also think that Nicola Scott is improving dramatically as the penciller. Of course Rodney Ramos inks may be helping, but I'm still impressed. We kind of get a recap with this story. Oracle needs Huntress' help with something, but she's right in the middle of a car chase with some car-jackers who took over a school bus. With kids on it. Being a teacher herself, she really doesn't want to let this one go. She starts going down the list of who else Oracle could call, and with each one there's a different reason why they're not available. So then Oracle starts going down the list of all the operatives they've gone through, and why each one didn't work quite right with their team. Eventually, I'm sure it was only 2 or 3 minutes, Huntress realizes the importance of Oracle's request, so she does a hotdog move to bring the bus to a stop. She then takes the bus herself, with the criminals on board, to crash in to the warehouse that Oracle needs her at. And both crisis' end up being diverted. It's amazing how much this can feel like a team book when really, this issue, we only dealt with 2 characters. But it's their interactions and the way they compliment each other that really sets this one apart. I've been a fan of this book right from the beginning. I hope that when McKeever takes over as the writer, he keeps the same excellence and feel going. And hopefully he brings this book back in to the spotlight. It deserves it.
