Last issue we followed Freddie to his meeting with Hercules. Unfortunately, Sabina had made it there first. And she ended up with half of his powers. So when Freddie did show up, he gave him the other half and also a warning about Sabina. This issue, we find out a whole lot more about Sabina. Her real name is Sabina De La Croix, she is the daughter of Marius and Becca. Two very powerful sorcerer's I'd guess. Anyways when they were taken, she was orphaned, and didn't know about her own powers. When they did start to manifest themselves, she was using them instinctually, without any thought or training. This got the attention of the 2 guys who took her in. I don't know who they are, but one's red and one's blue. So they've been training her in the use of her powers, and how to fight. Which is what gives her the advantage over Freddie. The other thing about her is that she's in the line of succession for the powers of Merlin. Actually she's #10. But our multi-colored demons find out this issue that she's already taken out the first 9. So she's the only one left. Which is why she's joined Freddie, in the middle of his pursuit of power. She's taking a stab at the power also. And it appears that she may have the advantage. But he has earned the wisdom of Solomon, and invulnerability from Achilles. But will it be enough to hold her back. We won't know until next issue, when they both go after Atlas. I really like Judd Winick's stories. And I'm a huge fan of Howard Porter's. I think they're both doing a fantastic job with this series.
