Moon Knight #11 - Marvel

This particular issue is part of the Avengers Initiative. But I don't really understand how, because it's not really a team-up or a cross-over. In fact it plainly says that this story takes place before the events of Civil War #6 & #7. If that's so, then how can it be a part of the Initiative, when the Initiative didn't even come in to place until after the Civil War. Is this just a cheap marketing ploy? If so . . . that stuff really bothers me. Anyways Charlie Huston is still writing it, so the story is moving along pretty much at the same pace it always has. But our new penciller is Mico Suayan. His style is . . . ok. But you can tell he's relatively new to the scene. Like I said, it's ok. It's just not at the level we were used to, and spoiled by, for the first 9 issues. And maybe the story is set up to make us feel the conflicts raging in Marc's mind, but . . it's still confusing at times. I read each issue as it comes along. But then sometimes I have to peruse the previous ones, to get it to all work together. That's not to say that I don't like it. It's just . . . complicated. But then . . so is Marc Spectre. So if that's what he's trying to convey . . . the confusing, mixed-up thought process' . . . then . . . mission accomplished. And I'm really not complaining, but we see Iron Man on the cover. The only place he shows up in this issue is on the next to the last page, when Marc is making a scene with Marlene and her boyfriend on the steps of a building, and Tony Stark sees whats going on and asks if he can be of assistance. How is that connected to the Initiative? I don't get it. Anyways, overall . . . it was an ok book. Nothing to be thrilled about. Nothing to be despised. Just another book in the stack.
