Deadman #11 - Vertigo

You can tell this series is coming to an end, because they've already downgraded the artist. Whoops! Did I spoil the surprise? Well . . . yeah, #13 is going to be the last issue. It's a shame to, because this character and series really has a lot of potential. Maybe they'll do like they do with other characters, cancel the on-going, but then bring them back every now and then in different mini's. That would be suitable. I'd just hate to see this character, and concept, just get thrown to the wayside because it didn't kick in with the readers. Anyways, with this particular issue, despite the artist, the story is really coming in to focus for the first time. Brandon has gone to California to try to talk to Mrs. Kendall. Somehow she's hooked up with what's going on with Sarah and her baby. But Eve is pretty drugged up, so it's hard for Brandon to get her to cooperate. Meanwhile, the guys that took Sarah have her locked in a basement somewhere in England. At least for now. She's trying to put up a fight, but it's hard when you're tied to a chair. Anyways, Brandon is trying to bounce back and forth with her, but he's not having a lot of luck. Finally in the end, when he's trying to find his way out of the hospital, he's stopped by Dr. Heinrich. He seem to be the mastermind behind this whole thing. Brandon tries to break free, but when he does so the Dr. shows him a video of Sarah in a luggage compartment, and then thrown out of the back of a plane. Brandon should be able to save her. But he's only got 2 issues to do it in. Fantastic story by Bruce Jones. It'll really be interesting to see how he wraps this all up.
