I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Metamorpho - Year 1 - #2 - DC
Of course we all know this story. It doesn't change much in this series, so far, other than it's kind of updated for our time. From the story, it seems like it probably just happened, in like the last 10 years. And so far he's dealing with the usual life crisis'. He's in love with Sapphire. And she with he, also, even though it's frowned upon by her father. Actually that's probably why she's so in love with him. Her father, Stagg, is trying to get rid of him. Right now I don't think it's because of his daughter. I think right now it's more out of greed. He doesn't want to share the wealth from Rex's treasure excursions. Even though that's really the only salary he draws. And in this issue, Rex does make it back to Sapphire's house. He hasn't put it all together yet that it was the father that left him there to die. So far, I think, he thinks it was all just some kind of accident. He makes his way into the main house, and actually uses his powers to make it in to their panic room. You know, through the ventilation. But on the final page, when he's being held powerless by Stagg, who is holding the Orb of Ra, I think he's starting to understand just how desperate his situation may be. Dan Jurgens is sticking pretty close to the original telling. Like I said, just updated a bit. But I'm sure there will be some more subtle changes to the story before the end of issue #6. At least I hope so. Beautiful Kevin Nowlan cover.
