Fantastic Four #550 - Marvel

First of all, this book has a fantastic creative team right now. We have Dwayne McDuffie writing, Paul Pelletier on pencils and Michael Turner doing the covers. I'm really glad the Paul is getting the credit he's due now. Finally! He's been such a great talent, for a long time, but he always seems to fly under everybody's radar. But it seems like now, he finally getting the credit he's due. This issue wraps up the T'challa / Ororo storyline. Plus it kind of wraps up the Oditopians / Contrasepsis storyline. It looks like we lost one of the Watcher's this issue. But since nobody really knows how many there are, we really don't know which one. But I doubt it's Uatu. But there does seem to be an awful lot of them watching this space / time reality degeneration thing. Silver Surfer is also brought in to help this issue. They need his tracking abilities. And why not, since they're way-out in space. He takes them to a place, " . . . even Richards has yet to explore." They find the main mass of the Contrasepsis, and it appears to be attacking something. Someone actually. A friend. Doctor Strange. Long story short, Eternity, one of the cosmic entities, was harmed when the Oditopians were doing some research. So the Contrasepsis is Eternity's anti-bodies. He sent them to get rid of the infection, the Oditopians. But they became stronger, so he had to send more. While Reed and company are attempting to fix the problem, Uatu shows up and offers some assistance. He knows somebody who can help with their needs. He goes and retrieves Gravity. He really might as well become part of the team. They seem to be using him an awful lot lately. Anyways, they succeed in their endeavor. Eternity is healed. And everyone returns home. Uatu may have to face some punishment though for interfering. And T'challa and Ororo have decided that they need to take their leave, and go handle the things they have going on in their own lives. So we're back to just the Fantastic Four family now. All 6 of them.
