Supergirl #40 - DC

There's a few details that we finally learn the truth behind, this issue. Last issue Supergirl turned herself in . . sort of . . to Inspector Henderson. He has to uphold the law, but . . he also has to find, and take care of Reactron and Superwoman. So they have a working relationship. Although that's tenuous at best because Major Lane, having learned about their involvement, is ready to arrest Kara and bring Bill up on charges of treason. Kara has surmised that Superwoman is Thara Ak-var. But, if that's the case then that means that she was involved in the murder of her father. That's something she's finding hard to swallow. She races out when Major Lane tells them about a Superwoman sighting. However, when she arrives she finds out it was all a set-up so that Reactron could get the drop on her. They have a fight, but the main thing to come out of all of this is the revelation Kara makes about Superwoman's identity. She goes back to Inspector Henderson's office as Superwoman is attacking him, and confirms her suspicions that Superwoman is indeed . . Major Lane. We also learn this issue that Lana Lang is somehow connected to all of this . . in way that we hadn't even begun to suspect. We don't know all of the details yet, but . . it's definitely not good for her health. I'm starting to get in to this story that Sterling Gates has going on here. I wasn't sure at first, but . . it looks like the wait is going to end up paying off. And of course Jamal Igle does a fabulous job on pencils again . . as usual. I was worried about the direction and future of this book, but . . it appears that my worries were in vain. I just needed to be a little patient. And this whole story-line . . New Krypton, Superwoman, Major and General Lane's involvement, Luthor's involvement . . is really all just beginning. We've got a lot of story to go.
