Action Comics #876 - DC

I wasn't sure what to expect this issue, but . . I gotta tell you . . I was blown away. The story is great. I'll get into that, but . . the artwork . . Eddy Barrows pencils just blew me away. This guy gets better and better with every issue he does. It's just a shame that he's not on the Teen Titans anymore. Sidney Leles helps him out this issue . . I'm not sure how they compliment each other so well, but . . the final product was just fantastic. Basically, Lor-Zod, Christopher, and Thara Ak-Var have been posing as Nightwing & Flamebird back on Earth. Well Zod has dispatched Ursa to take out Thara, and return Lor to New Krypton where he belongs. Ursa is taking great zealousness in her task. Basically she wants to take Ursa apart piece by piece. The ironic part though is . . throughout this issue, Ursa is narrating her thoughts on how she's going to beat Ursa. "The luscious thing about fear is that is steals control. Create enough of it and you can even steal reason. You just have to know what buttons to press . . what words to say. Fear and anger give her away." However, when Christopher sees how much Ursa is hurting her, he starts fighting back. This pisses Ursa off to no end. And now she's the one that's loosing control because of her anger. He buries Ursa under a mountain of ice, and then head back to Earth, with Thara . . and straight to Lois. She looks out the window . . " You're not Superman." Christopher is floating there holding the broken Thara in his arms and says, "Hello, Mom." I thought Greg Rucka did a great job with this story. The dementia and pure evil, from Ursa, just seemed to ooze off the page. Not to mention the frustration from Thara and Christopher. All in all it was a great issue, and I think a good chapter in this World Without Superman story-line. I can't wait for the next chapter.
