I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

X-Men : First Class Vol.2 #3 - Marvel
This book is a welcome diversion from the usual somber, end of the earth, X-men stories. This one is just fun. This second series started out with the kids being sent to Monster Island. Actually, they didn't know that at first. But, had they'd known such a place existed, I'm sure they would've guessed it pretty fast. Anyways, Scott keeps going on about how he doesn't feel that the messages they've been getting from Charles are . . . well normal. He says he just feels like there's something wrong. And . . . he's right. We find out this issue, that it was actually their coat-rack, back at the mansion, that was sending them on some frivolous mission. Ok. Actually, I mean Mastermind. He's back at the mansion in suspended animation, and the kids joke around about how he's a coat rack. Anyways, since he has nothing else to do, he's been exercising his mind. And he's getting stronger. He's been able to send the kid's these messages, pose as Charles, and block Cerebro from telling Charles where they're at. So yeah . . I'd say he's getting a little bit stronger. So he thought that if he sent them to this island, without the backup or guidance of their mentor, that they would perish in the elements. Or . . . end up as someone's snack. And, once they were gone, Charles would be an emotional wreck, and loosen his grip on him. Plus if they're gone, Charles wouldn't have known what actually happened. Not a bad plan. For a coat-rack. Anyways, he gets a little frustrated with the kids, and when he does, his mental powers loosen a little. Eventually it's enough for Charles to find his way in and discover what's going on. Of course now that he's shut down Mastermind, he still has to find a way to get out there and rescue them. So for the time being . . . they're stuck where they're at. Nice story by Jeff Parker and Roger Cruz. They're the same ones that brought us the first mini series. And it looks like this one's going to be just as good as that.
