Sensational Spider-man #40 - Marvel

Well since the One More Day storyline is getting ready to start . . which means this series is about over . . we get a kind of retrospective this issue. But, it's drawn by Clayton Crain so . . it's all good. We start out with alot of the back-story on Spider-man. We probably all know it by heart. But it's nice to see it from Clayton's point of view. I never knew Liz was such a . . . . Betty! Meowww! Anyways, Peter is rummaging through all this in his head, as he's sitting by May's bedside. He just feels like he's had enough. So he decides to go out back and let off a little steam by beating up on some garbage dumpsters. Long story short, he's paid a visit by God. They have a nice chat, and God tries to show Peter that despite all his trials, his good in life far outweighs his bad. He takes Peter out to Robert Moses beach. It's a place where he used to go with Ben and May when he was a kid. There they come across thousands of people roaming around on the beach. " . . an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny sampling of all the thousands upon thousands of people you've saved as Spider-man over the years . . . I'm counting team-ups . . ." For the meantime, it cheers him up a little bit. I really think that Peter tries to be thankful for all that he has. It's just sometimes easier to wallow in all the guilt over what you've lost. So we'll see in the One More Day story, where he goes from here. Overall though, this was a fantastic issue.
