I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

JLA Classified #40 - DC
This is turning out to be a really good story. It's written by Peter Milligan and drawn by Carlos D'anda. Basically, Amazo has, or had a son. Not really. But since they're both made by the same scientist, T.O.Morrow, and this Frank Halloran is the 2nd model, Amazo considers himself to be the father. And he definitely wants him in the family business. In fact, he, or Morrow, hadn't considered anything else. But I think where they made their mistake was letting him go to college, develop his own point of view, and not even letting him know that he was an android. He truly believed the memories and feelings that he was programmed with. Plus . . . he fell in love. But that love . . . or now the absence of it since Sara broke up with him, is what's making him think about going bad. But he can't quite take that final step to go over the edge. He tries to do some bad things, but, he doesn't quite follow through with them. He breaks out a gang while they're being transported. But . . . he won't help them escape. He leaves them in the middle of the desert. The JLA has taken a hands off approach because they want him to decide for himself whether to go good or bad. They're watching. But they aren't going to get involved, unless of course human life is at risk. But he hasn't gone that far yet. But at the end of the issue, while Frank is trying to get through to Sara, and she's telling him that he's being pathetic for going bad because she broke up with him, they finally decide to confront him. It takes Wonder Woman and Flash combined to subdue him, but as the entire team stands there in front of him, Batman says " . . you're the son of Amazo. Able to replicate each of the League's individual powers. But there's something else about yourself you should know . . ." Hmmm! I wonder if that bit of knowledge is going to strengthen his resolve to go good or bad? I really like Carlos D'anda's artwork on this issue. It's got a raw, gritty kind of feel to it. And it's perfect for this story. And of course Peter does a great job with the character interaction. It should be interesting to see how this plays out. Could we have a new League member on our hands? I hope they have some plans for him after this story arc. I think he has the potential to be a great character.
