I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Checkmate #16 - DC
Ok, finally. This book . . . I really have nothing negative to say about it. This book is fantastic. It's so much better than the first incarnation, some . . . . what . . . 20 years ago. Wow! It just doesn't seem like it was that long ago. Time just seems to fly when your . . . . working . . . having some fun . . . working . . . . and sleeping. BAMMMM! Where'd it go? Anyways this book is just filled with a cast of terrific characters. Pun intended. You know. Mr Terrific? Anyways, this issue is the aftermath of the Oolong island incident. You know where Sasha was violently violated and dissected? Anyways, she seems to be dealing with it. But . . . we all know that she's not. We also see the reunion of Fire & Ice this issue. After the recent story-arc in Birds of Prey, Ice has been brought back to life. And as soon as she was stable, she was brought to CheckMate. But things are only going to get worse before they get better. Shen Li Po has gone back to China, and the Iron Giant (?) has come to CheckMate as his temporary replacement. I don't remember his real name. He's one of the Chinese super-soldiers. But he was also on Oolong Island when Chang Tzu was dissecting Sasha. In fact he was in the same room, and he just turned around and walked away. Now . . . he's working for CheckMate. That's not going to help Sasha regain her normalcy. Also Michael and Sasha have given in to their feelings and hooked up, but, unbeknownst to them they have a voyeur, Mirror Master. So . . . I wonder what that's all about. Anyways, fantastic book. Greg Rucka does a fantastic job with the stories, as usual. And Joe Bennett really has a fantastic grasp of these characters. So right now . . . this book couldn't be in better hands.
