Green Arrow / Black Canary #27 - DC

Well . . it seems that the Everyman Green Arrow and Cupid are flitting about town like a couple of love-sick teenagers. Well . . Cupid is in love. Everyman has become a victim of his own emotions as Cupid has injected him with some special type of love-potion or something. Anyways, they're going around busting up crimes and criminals, but . . then they're attacking, or even killing the victims themselves. They're kind of stuck in a psycho Robin Hood type scenerio. But they protect the rich, kill the poor, and then . . they steal from the rich and kill them too. I think they read a different story than I did. Anyways, Mia and Ollie and Dinah are out trying to clean up their mess. But Star City has an awful lot of crime going on, so . . they've been rather busy themselves. Well . . that and, Ollie and Dinah are getting reacquainted every chance they get. 'All right, already. Get a room. Or at least get your own rooftop.' But the main purpose of this story is to give us a little background on Cupid. She wasn't always insane. She used to work for some type of special black-ops team, Cobalt. Two years ago they were in Russia trying to take down an arms dealer, when she found herself face to face with him. She had him dead to rights, but . . he had a cache of landmines stashed in the basement of a local hospital. If she shot him he would blow them up. However the leader of her group wanted her to complete her mission . . no matter what. The choice was taken out of her hands when the arms dealer tried to shoot her and she had to defend herself. He dropped the trigger and the whole hospital went up. That's apparently when she had her breakdown . . standing among the rubble and bodies. Andrew Kreisberg is doing a great job with this story. I love what he's putting these characters through, and the relationships he's developing. Yeah they're all going through a lot, but . . adversity makes you stronger. Right? I love Mike Norton's art with Bill Sienkiewicz finishing it. It looks fantastic. I even enjoyed Renato Guedes' art on Cupid's story. I've always been a Green Arrow fan, but this book is a 'must read' every month. I think, right now . . it's the best it's ever been.
