Strange Adventures #6 - DC

I love Jim Starlin's work. He does the art and the story on this issue. This story seems to be mostly about bringing the Aberrant Six together. Well . . it's also about Synnar reclaiming his power that the Weird now currently has in his possession. Which is how, with this issue, Comet and Strange have ended up in the Weird's psyche. They were trying to make contact with him, when, not knowing his own strength, the Weird pulled them right into his grey matter. Now they have to find thier way around this jungle gym that he calls a brain. However, they do learn of the Weirds previous beings that the Weird has merged with. They include Walter Langley, his first possession . . and then a couple of aliens, Gaidoor, Xaltoon and Zarolatt. There's also Captain Comet present, his older self, and of course Synarr. I like the observation that Adam makes during this whole thing, he tells Comet . . "What do you figure the odds are? Two expatriated Earthmen, far from home, having to save the entire universe from a third Earthman." Anyways, now that all the identities are together, they're hoping that logic can prevail and they can talk the Weird into giving Synarr his power back before he causes more problems than he has in this little corner of the universe. In the back-up, also by Jim, but illustrated by Scott McDaniel, we see that Coriolis, Deacon Dark's apprentice, is on Thanagar now. He's trying to get Bizarro, the last of the Aberrant Six back to Deacon Dark. However, having stopped on Thanagar, Lady Styx has picked up thier signal. She's sent Megeldon-7, as her enforcer, to deal with them. He's a giant shark/man creature who's wearing blue Kryptonite gloves to take care of Bizarro. That is until Coriolis uses his magic to remove them. He's not trying to save Bizarro so much as save himself from getting flayed by Dark should he not return with his package. This was another fantastic chapter by Jim. I still think he's the perfect person to head up this renewed interest in the cosmic part of the DC Universe. He's absolutely spot-on for these types of stories. There's only 2 issues to go, so . . I'm wondering what the next chapter is going to be.
