X-Men #193 - Marvel

I love this book. And now with Mike Carey and Chris Bachalo in charge of the creative process, it's even better. This story has been a fantastic ride. We've gotten to meet a whole new culture of "metas". Supposedly evolved thousands of years into our future. Supposedly evolved so far, that they're actually an entirely new species. At least that's the explanation that we're getting. Anyways they're coming after the X-men. They were originally after Creed. But, since he took refuge on the X-men compound, they also have a target drawn on them. Rogue, however, has assembled her own team and has gone to confront them head on, before they actually get to the school. She really does a very good job, and pretty much puts them out of commission by the time they get here. The X-men help to finish up the job, but Rogue was pretty much the quarterback calling the plays. And once she's finished the job, she's decided to take her team and go someplace else. Don't really know what that's all about yet, but I'm sure we'll find out in the future. And I'm sure we're going to see these "Supernovas" in the future also. They genetically altered some dead cattle, and filled the hull of the ship with them. That way if their plan failed, when they saw all the bodies on board, they would think that they've gotten them all. Great story, good art and fantastic characters. What more could you ask for?
