The Boys #5 - WildStorm

Another brilliantly written Garth Ennis book. This one has come on really strong in it's first 5 issues. The team is making their first strike against the heroes this issue. They've been spying on the Teenage Kix, and have a lot of discriminating footage and audio of them already. So they give them a copy and tell them that someone has to go down or else it all gets leaked to the press. With no other recourse, they out their gay member. They had to give up someone. But the adult super team, recognizes Butcher's signature and give up their names, in an anonymous e-mail, to Teenage Kix. So they seek them out, and on the last page of the book, come face to face with Butcher's team. Butcher starts laughing so hard he's crying. Finally he says, "Let's give 'em a fuckin' spankin'." Brilliantly written and fantastic dialouge. Hughie, who's trying to figure out if this is what he really wants to do, talks to a few different people. But what made me think, was when he was talking to Butcher and Butcher says, "I love this country. They're all so scared of losin' whatever little fortune it is they think they've got, they never dream of havin' a look over their shoulders. You're careful about it, you can get away with practically anything." Some serious words to think about. Anyways, great book, and I highly recommend it to everyone.
