With the creative team on this issue, Mark Verheiden and Ethan Van Sciver, you just know it's going to be fantastic. I now have 3 artists in this style that I really like, George Perez, Phil Jimenez and now Ethan Van Sciver. I love the detail and the razor thin pencils and inks. This issue has an obviously possessed Killowog trying to convince Clark just how much of an alien he is on this planet. Batman has a way of getting Clark to see the truth, but someone or something is really screwing with all these aliens brains. Luthor is so scared, that he's asked Batman and Plastic Man for their help. They are going to Superman's fortress to try to obtain some Blackrock that they think will help with this alien invasion. But the Blackrock has "found" Plastic Man. They also encounter an equally ominous alien in Starfire there. And the final panel of the book, with Superman's glowing red eyes, saying "From this moment forward, earth belongs to anyone with the strength to take it", feels particularly threatening. The momentum of this book has not slowed down one iota since issue #1. I love it!
I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.
