Blue Beetle #9 - DC

I'm still kinda' having a hard time getting into this series. But, we get a lot more information this issue. Our group is going through all of Dan Garrett's old files, trying to collate information, to help Jamie figure out what he's supposed to do. It was given to them by Dan's, the original Blue Beetle, granddaughter. We also get some back story on the Peacemaker. It seems that he's not a new one, but the original, with a different look. In one of his last operations, as a merc, he came across a tomb in a pyramid that had a lot to do with the beetle. But he won't say anymore, because he wants to drag his story out. They also find out that Jamie, or rather the Blue Beetle, has some huge media buzz going on right now. Jamie seems to be getting pretty cozy with Brenda. Jamie's friend Paco has assemble a virtual beetle cave on his computer. It's designed to be his command center. It can be accessed by cell phone, and he thinks, Jamie's alien armor. His first mission is a big fire on the highway. That is with his parents permission of course. "Go be careful. And let's say, when it's a natural disaster, not school hours, you can just go.", says his dad quite calmly. Oh, and in case we forgot, Brenda is La Dama's daughter. What a tangle web we weave. Ok, I admit, it's starting to grow on me. Not thrilled about the art, but overall it's a decent book.
