Justin Gray, Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner just got done doing a great run on the mini-series Terra. Now they've rejoined forces and have decided to tackle Power Girl. I wouldn't mind tackling Power Girl. Literally! Anyways, they jump right into reinventing PG this issue. On the very first page they skim over her origin very quickly. Which I'm actually glad they handled that way. "It's a classic tale of a distant and doomed planet named Krypton . . . . . this isn't that story. Not exactly." Rather than see the comparisons she has to Superman, and the Superman family, I'd much rather delve into the differences. PG is a great character all on her own. I like the connections she has to Superman, and the fact that, like our alternate Earth's, she's from an alternate Krypton. I'm not denying that there's a lot that could be done with that. However, in the past that's been done. Personally I'd much rather see the differences and why she's her own character and person. She's resumed her Karen Starr identity, and she's made progress in obtaining and reinvigorating Starrware Labs, her former company. Also, she's jumped right into a battle with a major villain . . the Ultra-Humanite.
