the Mighty Avengers #27 - Marvel

This issue we find out the real reason that USAgent and Quicksilver were sent to China. But first, we have to get a little history on the Inhumans. When Attilan was on Earth, before black bolt became king, there was another. He was a great and powerful king, but . . eventually he abused that power and Black Bolt and his group usurped him. It all came down to something called the Slave Engine. We don't really find out what it was or what it did, but this king . . now 'the unspoken' . . removed it from Attilan without the permission of it's people. He hid it where none would find it. They then took him into the farthest reaches of the Himalayas where he was banished. I'm not sure why they didn't kill him, but . . they didn't. Now this threat has returned. GRANDPA was concerned because he's obviously Inhuman, and if they become allied with China, " . . the geopolitical picture suddenly gets a hell of a lot more dangerous." Pietro does indeed identify him for them, but he also suddenly panics. He tries to warn them that he's more than they can handle . . more than any of them, or all of them can handle. Then China Force, or the People's Defense Force shows up. There's about 10 or 12 of them, and 'the Unspoken' takes them down without even breathing hard. USAgent decides it's time to make a call . ."Quicksilver's right. Forget just calling Pym's Avengers. We need Clint Barton's team, Osborn's team, Young Avengers, the Initiative . . we need every damn Avenger we can get!" Meanwhile, Hank has opened up his new base of operations for the rest of the team. He calls it . . 'the Infinite Avengers Mansion". The place is so big that Jocasta, who's back and experimenting with different forms, has placed one of those forms in the hallway at every mile marker. Just in case someone gets lost. And it looks like the floors go up for as far as they seem to go long. And each floor has more than it's share of doors. 'All of our dimensional doors are working again, better than before . . and there are a lot more of them.' And the Scarlet Witch appears to be there also. I would have to say that this title has definitely gotten better with the addition of Dan Slott and Christos Gage on the plots and scripts. I think we're getting a lot more unique and original ideas now. I also really enjoyed Khoi Pham's interpretation of these characters. I find myself actually looking forward to the next issue. Hmmph! Imagine that.
