I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Solomon Grundy #6 - DC
The cover of this book kind of put me in mind of those old monster movies. You know . . Abbott and Costello meet the Bride of Frankenstein . . or the Swamp Monster . . or whatever. I know. It's silly. You can't see it on the cover, but it says . . 'Solomon Grundy vs . . Frankenstein'. It just caught me a little funny there. Anyways, it appears that Frankenstein, the Bride and the rest of SHADE actually take out the muck-monster this time. Of course he took out a few of their men too, but . . the Bride shoots him with some holy-water, and then Frank impales him with the Sword of Michael. Apparently there's a mystical connection here . . which isn't really all that surprising, but . . it's never really been addressed before. Alan puts his Green Lantern back together, and of course the first thing he does is check on Molly. While doing so, we see that he's being spied on by Etrigan and some other form of sorcerer or demon or something. It appears that Cyrus Gold made a deal with the devil before he died and that's why he cursed to live this 'Groundhog Day' life, over and over and over again. Since this occurs on a Saturday, Alan and the Spectre only have one more day to put their plan into affect . . Cyrus has to confront his killer and forgive him. I guess that's the way to break the cycle. To me, this was the most coherent issue of this series yet. I actually got a bit of a grasp on what was going on, and where this may be heading. It wasn't a very clear picture, up to now. Don't get me wrong . . I think Scott Kolins is doing a good job on the scripts and the pencils. It was just all bluster and recaps up till now. But with this issue, we can start to see the tree through the fog. Now we'll just have to wait and see what happens when this is wrapped up next issue.
