I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Batman Confidential #32 - DC
I appreciate this story . . the talent that stands behind this issue is exemplary . . Peter Milligan, Andy Clarke . . Guillem March on the cover, but . . I'm just having a hard time swallowing this one. Batman is trying to stop this Tsar from extending his crime reach to Gotham. So, in order to do so, rather than wait for him to come to sprawling suburbia of Gotham . . Batman has decided to try to nip the rose in the bud. He's gone over to Moscow and is trying to stir up enough of a ruckus that the Tsar will forget about Gotham. Also, he's trying to find him . . to set him straight face to face, but . . I don't know if that's the best idea. I really don't think the Batman is going to intimidate him all that much. However, as we see in this issue . . as does the Batman . . he really is a duck out of water. He's come to Moscow, trying to use the same tactics and MO as he does in his home town, but . . there's things in this town that the criminals are more afraid of than the Batman. The Tsar has an enforcer on his side . . the Bear, whom I assume is some kind of mutant, or something. He sticks to the shadows, and the Tsar only uses him in emergency situations . . such as this one with the Batman. As the Bear and the Bat struggle, they're also talking. Since he's a man, Batman is trying to appeal to his intellect. "The Tsar is and evil criminal . . He's a maniac. He's lying. He's . . listen . . forget what the Tsar told you. You can't trust him. He threatened to detonate a nuclear bomb in Moscow. That's how much he cares for you." I imagine he'll bring the Bear over to his way of thinking eventually, but . . not right away this issue. That would ruin the suspense. Plus there's one of the KGB that seems like he's tired of the status-quo. I imagine he'll probably search for the Batman. If he's not to scared for himself or his family. At the end of this issue, it already looks like one of the General's are going to accept Batman's help. I love the art. And, I like the premise of the story. But . . it loses something in the translation. First of all, Batman's to out of place for it to be believable. And secondly . . there's way to much 'comic-book dialogue'. I don't know. Maybe it'll get better as it wraps up. But right now . . I'm not to thrilled with it.
